Success is Counted Sweetest- Emily Dickinson

I like the first stanza of the poem,

SUCCESS is counted sweetest
By those who ne’er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need

because it shows Dickinson knows that to truly be successful, one must be able to taste that victory is near in order to fully obtain it.

  1. Sounds like a good poem. Nice stanza. I completely agree, I guess tasting victory is the last step to consider something a success.
